Travelling on planes with bikes is always very stressful. After thorough research Steve strongly feels that we should pack the bikes in clear plastic bike bags however our arrival at the airport invariably involves protracted discussion with airport staff about the suitability of our packaging. So here is a picture of Steve rigid with stress!  But we are sending this post from the PUB in the departures lounge having successfully put the bikes through the oversize baggage system and been assured that they will be carried by hand to the aircraft.  We can only hope.  For those cycle tourers amongst our friends other travel arrangements of note is that we pack all 8 panniers, tent, etc in two large bags  weighing 20 kilos each.  We’re so relieved to have checked in.  Fingers crossed for the bikes emerging unscathed at the other end. Time for another beer…..  ☺
